Listening

Does Sarmad need the internet?

No. The music is generated on your phone as it plays. You can use Sarmad in airplane mode.

Will the music repeat?

No. Each piece is generated from a seed while it plays, so it keeps changing for as long as you listen.

Can I keep a mix I like?

Yes. You can name and save your own mix, then play it again from your saved mixes whenever you want.

The music stops when my screen turns off

Some phones close apps in the background to save battery. To keep Sarmad playing all night:

  1. Open Android Settings, then Apps, then Sarmad.
  2. Open Battery (on some phones, App battery usage).
  3. Choose Unrestricted.

Menu names differ between phone makers. dontkillmyapp.com has steps for most brands.

Can I control it from headphones or the lock screen?

Yes. While a session plays, Sarmad shows play, pause and stop controls on the lock screen and in notifications, and responds to the play button on most headphones.

Sleep timer

How does the fade-out work?

When the timer ends, the music fades out slowly instead of stopping. The fade lasts one minute by default. You can set it anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes in Settings.

Can it play all night?

Yes. Choose the longest timer, or turn the timer off, and Sarmad keeps playing until you stop it.

Purchase

How does the free trial work?

You get 14 days from the first time you open Sarmad. It does not ask for any payment details and never charges you. When the 14 days are up, the next time you open the app it asks you to buy it to keep using it. Music that is already playing is not cut off. Reinstalling the app on the same Google account does not normally restart the trial.

How much does Sarmad cost?

After the free trial, Sarmad is one purchase on Google Play, with no subscription. The price is shown in your currency on the Google Play listing.

I have a new phone. Do I need to pay again?

No. Sign in to Google Play with the same Google account, open Manage apps and device, and install Sarmad from your library. Your purchase is restored automatically.

How do I get a refund?

Within 48 hours of buying, you can usually request a refund directly in Google Play. After that, email us and tell us what went wrong. See the terms of use.

Comfort and accessibility

Is there something for nature sounds?

Yes. Filter the ready-made mixes by Nature to find rain and water mixes.

Which theme should I use at night?

Use Bedside. It is the darkest theme, made for the screen you look at in bed. You can also let Sarmad switch to it automatically while a session plays.

How do I use Sarmad in Arabic?

Sarmad follows your phone’s language. To use Arabic for Sarmad only, on Android 13 and later open Settings, then System, then Languages, then App languages, and pick Arabic for Sarmad.
